I love Hoffer's paintings. I think it's the wide open lonley desolation of them. No one I've seen does that better. I'm seriously considering going into to debt to have one.

for the painting -- suggestion. This is what I did for M. for last Christmas.

Most art galleries have slides of their works. They sell these slides for 'research' purposes, and under copyright law, the researcher is allowed to make 1 copy.

Ginn photography can digitally scan the slide, and reproduce the artwork on canvas through their awesome printer.

I got a copy of a Jean-Paul Lemieux slide, and had it done up to almost full scale (pretty big). It looks fantastic.

It's a way of getting art that is better then a print reproduced on paper for a couple of hundred $
